Shawn Mendes just headlined his first Stadium Show. He performed to a sold-out crowd of 50,000+ people at the Rogers Centre in his hometown of Toronto. It was his first time headlining a stadium show and what a show it was.

It included a surprise guest, a proposal, and a bunch of happy, screaming fans.

This was also the first stadium show and the last show of this tour for the opener and fellow Canadian, Alessia Cara. She got emotional on stage tonight and thanked and congratulated Shawn.

Shawn usually mashes up his collaborations with Camila Cabello (“I Know What You Did Last Summer/”Senorita”) but tonight he sang the full version of “Senorita” with Cabello joining him. He even snuck in a kiss on the cheek at the end.

Before singing “Fallin’ All in You,” Mendes made a shoutout to his friend, Josh, in the audience, who was there with his girlfriend. Josh proposed to Jess and she said “Yes!”

“I have a very good friend here tonight, his name is Josh and I think he has a very important question to ask his girlfriend.

….did she say yes?”

Although there was no extended setlist, like he said previously, it was a show to remember. We are so proud of Shawn and cannot wait to see what he does next.

This was his last show of the North American leg. The Asian leg will start on September 25th.

There was a special shirt honoring the stadium show, custom cups from Tim Hortons with the singer on it, and a pop-up shop in collaboration with Roots that offered exclusive merch.

Did you attend the show? What did you think? Let us know on Twitter at @Celebmix.
