Callum Smith appears to have suffered a serious arm injury in his fight with Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night in Texas.
The Brit was well-beaten in the contest, losing a one-sided affair by wide, unanimous decision.
After the fight, he refused to make any excuses, however DAZN cameras picked up images of him rubbing his left arm.
His bicep appeared misshapen in these pictures.
DAZN interviewer Chris Mannix then said on the post-fight broadcast: "Callum didn't want to make an excuse in that moment.
"I give him credit for it, but you can see the redness on that arm and Eddie Hearn told me after I did the interview that he believes Callum detached his bicep at some point during the fight.
"Eddie made it clear it probably didn't matter.
"Canelo Alvarez won this fight going away, he was masterful in his performance.
"But something tells me in the next couple of days we'll hear about Callum Smith being on the shelf for a little while."
In the fight itself, Canelo was dominant from start to finish.
Smith’s shots seemingly had little effect and could not keep Canelo at bay.
The Mexican’s speed and accuracy told as his British foe was forced to soak up continuous pressure.
He was hurt on multiple occasions and seemed relieved to hear the final bell.
When the scorecards were read out, there was no doubt about the result. Canelo’s well-deserved unanimous decision was delivered with scores of 119-109, 119-109, 117-111.
