Ashley Darby is best known for being a cast member of The Real Housewives of Potomac since its first season in 2016. After having her second child, Darby opened up about her weight-loss process in an interview with Bravo. "The first thing I would say is to not pressure yourself," she said. "There's a lot of societal pressure to look a certain way, and you see these moms who have bounced back — even me, for example."
Darby shared some of her fitness secrets in an interview with Bravo. She says that staying hydrated is extremely important to her. Darby says that she has upped her water intake, and reduced her wine intake. "You should try to drink at least three liters of water a day. You have to stop drinking the wine… I'm saying maybe two glasses a week. The thing about wine is that it's made out of grapes, which are fermented, and it's basically sugar. You might as well be eating Pixie Stix after Pixie Stix."
Darby makes sure to eat healthy. However, she tells Bravo that she take an 80/20 approach when it comes to eating. "The 80 percent is fairly clean [eating] and the 20 percent is indulging," she explains. Darby says that she has a particular indulgence that she enjoys. "I'm trying to become a vegan but I really love Doritos. So I can kill a bag of Doritos in .5 seconds, just inhale them. They're not vegan."
Darby isn't bothered by haters on social media. "It takes a lot to get to me, because I know I live my day-to-day life so fully," she told Slice. "I'm going through my experience as we all do. We live our own lives so fully that when someone who's not immersed in this [lifestyle] tries to tell me how I should conduct myself or what I should be doing, I'm like, 'You're only getting a snapshot.' How can I want someone who's getting a snapshot – how can I let their judgment really affect me at the core? It just doesn't."
Darby opened up about how motherhood has made her grow as a person in an interview with BET Lifestyle. "The biggest thing that I've taken from motherhood thus far is how much it's forcing me to grow. My patience is exponentially greater. And it's making me learn how to do better and be better. I've learned through reading that there are constructive ways to educate and discipline children. I've implemented those tactics. It's an exercise every day."
